Context

A team project at the African Institute of Management in Ouagadougou, around running a supermarket.

Problem

Stock tracked by hand, inaccurate tax calculations and no customer tracking.

Objective

Automate the till and invoicing, compute VAT and keep a history of customers and products.

Architecture

A Python desktop app: Tkinter interface, data-access layer with mysql-connector, MySQL database.

  1. TillCustomer, products and quantities added to the cart.
  2. InvoiceGross total, 18% VAT and net total computed, invoice saved and printable.
  3. StockAdmin area: add, edit or delete a product.
